I took this minimalist black-and-white photograph of a weird plant silhouetted against a backdrop of white snow in the winter of 2023. This fine art photographic print is available for purchase.
The photograph was taken during a stay with my children and friends in a mountain chalet in Paseky nad Jizerou in the stunning Krkonoše Mountains in the Czech Republic. One day I decided to take a break and explore the meadow above the ski slope, beautifully covered in fresh snow.
Although I had been looking for an exciting subject to photograph for some time, nothing caught my eye until I came across a small forest on the meadow’s edge. There I saw a strange plant that looked more like an animal than a plant, almost like a small triffid. Excited by this discovery, I took several photographs of this unique plant and this particular image was selected as one of four to be published as an art print.
