Black & White long exposure landscape photography Jankov II.
Wall photograph – winter landscape photographed with a long exposure – Jankov hill with tree silhouettes. 9.5 minutes long exposure time caused a blurring of the clouds floating in the sky, resulting in a landscape photograph with a dreamy expression.
The photograph was taken shortly before the end of 2021 in Uhříněves, Prague. The photo shows the Jankov hill – in a few years a motorway will pass here and this beautiful view will disappear forever.
How was the photo taken?
One frosty winter morning I went to my favorite place between Uhříněves and Dubeč. I parked a short distance away and drove straight across the frozen field to find the best view of a low but beautiful hill with a group of trees on top.
I set up the camera on a tripod, attached the remote shutter release, and set the exposure values, and focused. I then applied two ND filters to the lens, a 10 stop, and a 6 stop. I then calculated how long an exposure time I needed to use with these filters and started shooting. Since the exposure was longer than 10 minutes, I was able to walk away after pressing the shutter button and enjoy the calm of a frosty winter morning.
