Wavy hills photographed with long exposure
I took a very similar photo in black and white, you can see that here.
Fine art landscape photography print that you can buy printed on canvas, acrylic, or even wood. It is also available as a framed print with a large variety of frames in different shapes, materials, and colors.
The photograph shows a beautiful rural landscape in the Bohemian Paradise (Czech: Český ráj). Despite the fact that the landscape of Bohemian Paradise is characterized mainly by rock towns, you can also find such interesting minimalist scenery. The photo is taken with more than 6 minutes of exposure time. Thanks to this, the clouds rolling across the sky are blurred and give the photo a dreamy look. In post-production, I adjusted the colors of the photo to achieve a slight vintage look.
The story behind this photo
We have been driving around this beautiful place for years. The road leads to my wife's parents' cottage, where we regularly visit. I have wanted to go there for a long time and photograph the landscape. It is not as easy as it may seem at first sight. I like to take pictures alone because it takes me a long time and I don't like to delay someone else.
Until one day I had the perfect opportunity. Since our pub closed, my father-in-law asked me if I would take him to the neighboring village, which is just behind the hill you see in the photo. And I, instead of going back home and then coming back for him, spent over 2 hours taking pictures in a single spot.
I used 2 ND filters right away to take this photo, one 6 stops, and one 10 stops. This also made it very difficult for me to estimate the correct exposure time. It didn't help that as the sun gradually set and the amount of light decreased, each successive photo had to have a slightly longer exposure time.
