Black and white photo of a hairy mountain cow with large horns (Scottish highland or Highlander). This is partly a "high key" style photograph, characterized by a predominance of light tones and little contrast between light and shadow.
The photograph is also characterized by a large white negative space, making it a minimalist work of art. I placed the cow's head sideways to get as close as possible to the rule of thirds and therefore the golden ratio.
I took this photo on the outskirts of a small village near Benesov in Central Bohemia. Although the cattle were not traditionally bred here, they have become very popular nowadays.
In order to take a portrait of the cow's head I had to use a long telephoto lens set at 450mm. Thanks to the low aperture of f/5.6, only the head is sharp and the rest of the body is slightly out of focus.
The bull you see in the photo was the most beautiful of the entire herd and I was lucky enough to have him come quite close to me and pose perfectly.
