This is likely a shell of the species Neverita duplicata, also known as the shark’s eye. I photographed the shell using the photo stacking technique, taking about 20 photos with a shifted depth of field so that the entire shell was in focus. I did this because in macro photography, the depth of field is very shallow, even at a high f-stop—in this case, I used f/18.0.
